Parlament Europejski i Biuro Regionalne Województwa Kujawsko-Pomorskiego – lekcja Europy w praktyce

Jednym z najważniejszych punktów naszej mobilności Erasmus+ w Brukseli była wizyta w Parlamencie Europejskim oraz Biurze Regionalnym Województwa Kujawsko-Pomorskiego. Dzięki tym spotkaniom mogliśmy zobaczyć, jak funkcjonują instytucje europejskie oraz jak nasz region współpracuje z Unią Europejską.

Naszą wizytę w Parlamencie Europejskim rozpoczęliśmy od prezentacji poświęconej funkcjonowaniu Parlamentu Europejskiego oraz innych instytucji Unii Europejskiej. Dowiedzieliśmy się, jak przebiega proces stanowienia prawa, jakie są kompetencje Parlamentu Europejskiego oraz w jaki sposób europosłowie reprezentują interesy obywateli państw członkowskich. Poznaliśmy również działalność ugrupowań politycznych działających w Parlamencie oraz zasady współpracy pomiędzy najważniejszymi instytucjami europejskimi.

Następnie zwiedziliśmy budynek Parlamentu Europejskiego, którego zwieńczeniem była wizyta w sali obrad. Szczególne wrażenie zrobiła na nas możliwość zobaczenia miejsca, w którym podejmowane są decyzje mające wpływ na życie milionów Europejczyków. Dużym zainteresowaniem cieszyła się także praca tłumaczy ustnych, którzy podczas posiedzeń na bieżąco przekładają wystąpienia na wszystkie języki urzędowe Unii Europejskiej. Dzięki temu mogliśmy lepiej zrozumieć skalę i złożoność funkcjonowania tej międzynarodowej instytucji.

Kolejnym ważnym punktem programu była wizyta w Biurze Regionalnym Województwa Kujawsko-Pomorskiego w Brukseli. Mieści się ono w zabytkowej willi położonej w pobliżu Ambasady RP oraz przedstawicielstw wielu europejskich regionów. To właśnie tutaj reprezentowane są interesy naszego województwa na forum europejskim.

Zostaliśmy serdecznie przyjęci przez Dyrektora Biura, pana Mieszka Matusiaka, a także pana Krzysztofa Ciesielskiego i panią Beatę Skowrońską z Biura Promocji Gospodarczej i Inwestycyjnej. Podczas spotkania dowiedzieliśmy się, na czym polega codzienna praca przedstawicielstwa regionalnego w Brukseli oraz w jaki sposób wspierana jest współpraca pomiędzy Województwem Kujawsko-Pomorskim a instytucjami Unii Europejskiej.

Nasi gospodarze opowiedzieli również o funduszach europejskich i programach wspierających rozwój regionów, edukację, przedsiębiorczość oraz współpracę międzynarodową. Mieliśmy okazję dowiedzieć się więcej o priorytetach Unii Europejskiej na najbliższe lata oraz o możliwościach, jakie wspólnota europejska stwarza dla młodych ludzi.

Wizyty w Parlamencie Europejskim oraz Biurze Regionalnym Województwa Kujawsko-Pomorskiego były dla nas wyjątkową lekcją obywatelską. Pozwoliły nam zobaczyć, jak funkcjonuje Unia Europejska „od środka” oraz lepiej zrozumieć, jak decyzje podejmowane na szczeblu europejskim wpływają na życie mieszkańców naszego regionu. Było to niezwykle wartościowe doświadczenie, które pokazało nam, że Europa nie jest odległą ideą, lecz wspólnotą, której jesteśmy aktywną częścią.

European Parliament and the Regional Office of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship – Europe in Practice

One of the highlights of our Erasmus+ mobility in Brussels was a visit to the European Parliament and the Regional Office of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. These visits gave us a unique opportunity to learn how European institutions operate and how our region cooperates with the European Union.

Our visit to the European Parliament began with a presentation on the role and functioning of the Parliament and other European institutions. We learned about the legislative process, the responsibilities of the European Parliament, and the ways in which Members of the European Parliament represent the interests of citizens across the European Union. We also gained insight into the work of the political groups within the Parliament and the cooperation between the EU’s key institutions.

We then toured the Parliament building, with the highlight being a visit to the parliamentary chamber. It was fascinating to see the place where decisions affecting millions of Europeans are made. We were also particularly interested in the work of the interpreters, who provide real-time interpretation into all official languages of the European Union during parliamentary sessions. This helped us better understand the scale and complexity of such an international institution.

Another important part of the programme was our visit to the Regional Office of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Brussels. The office is located in a historic villa near the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the representations of many other European regions. It serves as the voice of our region at the European level.

We received a warm welcome from the Director of the Office, Mr Mieszko Matusiak, as well as Mr Krzysztof Ciesielski and Ms Beata Skowrońska from the Economic Promotion and Investment Office. During the meeting, we learned about the day-to-day work of the regional representation in Brussels and how cooperation between the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship and European institutions is supported and developed.

Our hosts also spoke about European funds and programmes that support regional development, education, entrepreneurship, and international cooperation. We had the opportunity to learn more about the European Union’s priorities for the coming years and the opportunities it offers to young people.

The visits to the European Parliament and the Regional Office of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship were a valuable lesson in active citizenship. They allowed us to see how the European Union works from the inside and to better understand how decisions made at the European level influence the lives of people in our region. It was an inspiring experience that showed us that Europe is not a distant idea, but a community of which we are an active part.
